Radiologists Encouraged to Recommend Cancer Commons to Their Patients

At last week’s Radiological Society of North America Annual Meeting, radiologists were encouraged to use social media to guide patients to valuable online resources—including Cancer Commons. SXSW Names Marty Tenenbaum a 2016 Dewey Winburne Community Service Honoree

Some cancer patients have outstanding or unexpected responses to treatment. These “exceptional responders” can reveal new treatment approaches and new directions for research. Heather Rangel Swims a 10,000 Meter Butterfly and Raises $25,000 for Cancer Commons

Heather Rangel is a Deloitte partner and a Cancer Commons Pathfinder donor and volunteer. She heads up Project Shine, in which she works with her extensive network to support Cancer Commons. Heather kick-started the campaign by setting a goal she wasn’t sure she could meet—swimming a 10,000 meter butterfly—and raised more than twice her target amount. I spoke with her about her achievement.
